I am new to repairing Notebook on my own. I appreciate your website tremendously.
I have several Sony PCG Trs that I depend on, General use, Travel, one for my son.
Two Quick questions:
Can the CPUs on the SONY TR SERIES TR1A -TR3A, TR4, AND TR5 interchangeable on the motherboard? In order words, can you effectively upgrade a TR1A into a TR3,4 or 5 by changing the CPU.
Second Quick Question: I used to use two Sharp UM32W’s. Both died and I can’t get parts other than at the incredibly exhorbitant Sharp site. Do you know of anywhere else to purchase a Sharp UM32W motherboard and Keyboard used or new at a reasonable price?

My TR3a does not charge.
If you leave overnight, then it charges, but if you work without battery and only with the charger plugged to the wall it automatically goes to sleep because there is no battery and its not receiving electricity from the charger fast enought.
